The areas of mainland and islands that make up the Province of Zeeland are situated in the South West of the Netherlands. In this Delta area the sea is always at close proximity.
Over a century ago this Delta served as a large source of inspiration for painters such as Mondriaan and Toorop, attracted by the famous “Zeeuwse Licht” (the exceptional quality of the light in Zeeland), the ridges of dunes and the woods.
Today, about a century later, three composers with a special tie to Zeeland, wrote compositions outlining the individual relation of each one of them to the Delta.

"....beautiful, compact and exciting pieces..."
Parool - Maartje den Breejen
"In Eisenga’s well-known way a small repetitive theme, on piano in this instance, is being expanded into new additional repetitions and variations by other instruments.
Slowly the murmuring water of the Delta grows into a thundering cadence that is carried to an overwhelming climax. As stealthily and mercilessly as the water has arrived, as beautifully the water flows back until the basic theme re-surfaces and all is quite again”.
