LYRICS
These deep sounds are the mystery,
the roots that probe through the grass.
These sounds, flowing through our veins,
that we all know of and do not understand.
A wondrous power that all may feel,
and no Angel, no Muse can explain.
The Angel dazzles, shedding his grace,
waving his wings of steel in predestination.
The Muse arouses the brain with landscapes of columns and the false taste of laurel.
The Angel sheds light.
The Muse gives form.
Both approaching from without.
But these deep sounds,
must come to life in the nethermost recesses of our blood.
Repel the Angel!
Conquer his awe of the fragrance of violets.
Kick out the Muse!
Kick out the telescope.
Kick out infinity!
Don’t sing with the Angel!
Don’t sing with the Muse!
Kick out the Angel!
Kick out the Muse!
These sounds, flowing through our veins,
that we all know of and do not understand,
a mysterious power that all may feel.
Sing with the smell of child’s spittle!
Sing with the feel of crushed grass!
Sing with the sound of rushing blood!
Sing with the wind through empty arches!
